What is Herbal Alkaline Water?
The “alkaline” in alkaline water refers to its pH level. The pH level is a number that measures how acidic or alkaline a substance is on a scale of 0 to 14. For example, something with a pH of 1 would be very acidic and something with a pH of 13 would be very alkaline.
Alkaline water has a higher pH level than regular drinking water.
Normal drinking water generally has a neutral pH of 7. Alkaline water typically has a pH of 8 or 9. However, pH alone isn’t enough to impart substantial alkalinity to water.
Alkaline water must also contain alkaline minerals and negative oxidation reduction potential (ORP). ORP is the ability of water to act as a pro- or antioxidant. The more negative the ORP value, the more antioxidizing it is.
Now a days, foreign companies are selling Alkaline water making machines in India with a furious marketing. These machines make water alkaline by using chemicals and utilising electrical mechanical process. This makes it a lifeless drink only. But water is much more than only a drink. It is most important among the 5 main constituents of our body.
The five universal elements by which our body is composed of are :

There are many reasons for increased acidic condition in the body :
Firstly, water purified from machines is being used in abundance, which is slightly acidic. Because these RO filters remove all the essential elements of drinking water and make a fundamental change in its nature. These machines undergo many chemical and electrical processes for the purification of drinking water, as a result of which it becomes a lifeless artificial drink, not a nutritional nutrient for our body. Due to these processes, this pure water becomes slightly acidic and by drinking regularly this acidic water, acidic condition has increased in our body
The second important reason is :- The use of 3 Rasas regularly in much more increased quantities among six Rasas. These three Rasas cause acidic condition . The six Rasas mentioned in Ayurveda are: 1. Sweet 2. Acidic 3. Salty 4. Bitter 5. tikt and 6. kashaya. Until a few years ago, there was a lot of harmony in the food items of the people of India related to all these six Rasas . That is why at that time, there was a condition of mild alkaline condition in the body of the people and people used to get less diseases, particularly incurable diseases – a very small number of people were suffering from diseases. But in recent years, in India, three Rasas are predominantly used in the food and drink of people – sweet, acidic and salty. All three produce acidic condition after digestion, such as – sweet substances which are made of sugar produce acid after digestion, acidic substances are acidic, and the packaged salt which is manufactured by the chemical process is also completely produces acidic condition.”
The third reason is the acidosis resulting from non-exit of the internal foreign liquids (which are acidic) due to physical exertion and non-exercise.
The fourth reason is increased stress. Due to increasing modernization, there has been a tremendous change in lifestyle and man has started being stressed from morning to night. The acidosis caused by the acidic acid disorder is stimulated and depressed by the cells due to mental stress.
